Dear friends, as we announced few days ago, our release plan shall feature both music and literature in the second half of 2026. Regarding the latter, that is the literature front, we once again orchestrated, for the next month already, something for the fans of extreme metal, death and grind in particular, namely the Czech edition of the autobiography of the legendary Shane Embury, bassist of the no less legendary Napalm Death!

The book was originally published in 2023 by the British publisher Rocket 88 and its coming into being was because for Embury: “It made sense at this point in my life to document everything as honestly as I can. A lot has happened in the last few years – there’s been a major pandemic, my mom passed away, I’ve stopped drinking and started again and ended up in hospital in great pain because of it – and all these things have affected me in different ways. So, this book represents a step forward for me. I’m looking backwards, but I’m looking ahead as well. This is me re-evaluating what’s been important in my life and is still important as I move forward.”

The core of “Life…? And Napalm Death” is obviously Embury’s involvement with the British grinders. That does not mean ignoring his other musical endeavors, be it in Lock Up, Brujeria or Venomous Concept. His life story is accompanied by recollections of friends or bandmates, and included also are photos from Embury’s personal archive.
