Dear friends, welcome to the third browsing through the upcoming Czech edition of the "Masterpieces 2019" artbook by the English publisher Heavy Music Artwork, in which we are moving on to glance at the next two galleries.

The fifth one to be found in the book is entitled Highlight Artist of the Year and it showcases the work of such an artist, who is still to some extent under the general radar, but whose talent is already a sign of a stellar career. In case of Masterpieces, this title for the year before last went to the American visual artist Caelan Stokkermans, who so far has worked with bands such as Misery Index, Bring Me The Horizon, Cattle Decapitation, Vale of Pnath, Lorna Shore, Echoes of Misanthropy or Soreption. He is again a self-taught artist, who works predominantly with the digital medium using various techniques including digital painting, photography or 3D modelling. Beside albums, Caelan Stokkermans is also involved in design of band logos and merchandise, book covers and illustrations or concept design. Check out more of his portfolio here.

The sixth gallery then reflects the fact that in multiple cases, the metal releases get beside the standard edition also a special limited one, the best of which is presented precisely in the Boxset of the Year chapter of this book. In 2019, this honor went to the collector's edition of the "War & Peace" double album by the American christian metal band DEMON HUNTER, authored by the U.S. art studio Invisible Creature of Ryan and Don Clark, which specializes on album design among other things. Involved was also the sculptor and longtime Demon Hunter fan Josh Foreman. The portfolio of Invisible Creature can be found here.

So enjoy, and still more browsing next time!
