Yes, it is indeed so. To enrich this whole enterprise, at least in part, with an international outlook on the metal music, we attempted to enlist for the third installment of MetalGate Massacre contest one of the significant names of the global metal scene for the contest committee. We are delighted that our attempt was a success. Our thanks to Sakis for deciding to get involved and we welcome him on board. Further members of the panel are: Miloš Meier, one the best Czech drummers; Filip Robovski, the bass guitarist of Kryptor; Petr Kubáň, manager of Arakain; and Damian, founder of Underground & Gothic shop Nosferatu. It will be up to these five to pick bands for the basic leg of the contest. Profiles of individual members are available on the contest website.

MG CDF OpenAir lineup change: Bad news for all fans of Mechanical Falus Cult. The band unfortunatelly announced recently that it is spliting up and thus will not perform at our festival. Vacant position will be filled by grindcore band INGROWING.

Beside Abstract Essence, Dymytry and announced Tortharry, MetalGate label grows stronger by the arrival of Prague Minority Sound, whose debut album "Analysis" we are proud to release. All fans of the combination of hard metal riffs and electronic samples indeed have something to look forward to. The album is scheduled to be released at the beginning of September.
Good news to all Dymytry fans! The first studio album "Neser", released in cooperation with MetalGate, is at last available at MetalGate eshop!

Holiday sale has been launched at MetalGate eshop. This means that till the end of holiday season, that is, till 31.8.2010, all studio albums are available for only 150 CZK. Furthermore, we have added new items into the catalogue, mainly of grindcore provenience, by bands Psychotic Despair, Diphteria, Poppy Seed Grinder, M.A.C. of MAD and Halali. Also available are two pieces of two spilt albums of the grind pack Choked by own vomits that got into our claws as well. As for the currently sold out titles, we are resupplying those as fast as we can. If you are interested in any of those, let us know either by email or via guestbook and we will send it to you as soon as we have that particular album available again.

MetalGate label activities now have the third official mark in the form of a new album of psy-core band Dymytry from Prague. We first met this band during the metal bands contest MetalGate Massacre and these guys began to interest us so that once we learned after the contest about their second album being recorded, we offered them our cooperation with releasing this project of theirs. We are happy that the band agreed. You can look forward to the album entitled "Neser!" during July 2010. Keep an eye on MetalGate eshop.

As you can read on the official band website, Rotting Christ vocalist Sakis has recently injured his leg in a car accident and will be bedridden at least for a month. As a result of this, the band had to postpone its South American tour to October 2010, which means then the cancellation of their show on MG Season Enclosure. We are sorry for this unfortunate development but we completelly understand the situation. We will attempt to move the Rotting Christ show to MG OpenAir 2011 and we are currently starting our search for an adequate replacement. We shall keep you informed about further development.

This summer holiday brings a special sale to MetalGate Eshop. From July 1st to August 31st 2010, all studio albums will have a uniform price of 150 CZK. The sale begins on Thursday 1.7. at 10 AM and ends on Tuesday 31.8. at midnight. The discount applies to regular albums only and does not apply to singles, demo records and EPs.

We have unfortunate news for all fans of Six Degrees of Separation. Due to a business trip of its guitar player to abroad that takes place at the same time as our festival, the band was forced to cancel its appearance at MetalGate OpenAir. Regretfully, this situation had no other solution. We appologize to all SDOS fans and promise to include the band in the lineup of MetalGate OpenAir 2011. The vacant set will be filled by doom metal band Euthanasia that performed at MetalGate Awakening 2009.

Debut of new E.P. "The Forgotten" by Demencia Mortalis excusivelly on MetalGate Season Enclosure - It is a singular honor for MetalGate to bear witness to the release of new EP, entitled "The Forgotten", by gothic metal band Demencia Mortalis from Roudnice nad Labem. Meteorological situation, a.k.a. we are on no matter the weather. Current weather forecast is not looking very optimistic indeed, yet we believe that weekend rain will not take place afterall. Furthermore we prepared at Vostrov high-capacity tents that will be deployed as needed in the spectators area so that you can enjoy the concert without being showered at the same time.
MetalGate OpenAir LINEUP CHANGE: We have unfortunate news for all Bad Face fans. Due to personal reasons, the band had to cancel its appearance on MetalGate OpenAir 2009. The second installment of our festival will thereby be started by orthodox death metal band Sabathory.

Ticket pre-sale launched. Tickets for MetalGate Awakening and MetalGate Spring Prelude are available at Ticketstream network, MMC office at Novodvorská 994/138 Prague 4, and at Exit Chmelnice for 150 Kč. It is also possible to buy a combined ticket for 200 Kč for both MetalGate Awakening and Spring Prelude. Tickets for MetalGate OpenAir are available at the Ticketportal network, MMC office for 250 Kč.
Important notice: Vader cannot perform at MetalGate OpenAir 2009 due to previously arranged performance of Vader at another festival at the same date. This fact was unfortunatelly forgotten when making deal between us and Vader. We are trully sorry about this and are doing our best to find another foreign headliner for our festival.

Initial information about the second act of MetalGate festival. This year we prepared three events under the MetalGate banner, two club events followed by the MetalGate year two itself. The schedule is as follows: 1) MetalGate Awakening - April 18th 2009, EXIT Chmelnice Prague - line-up consists of DMC, F.O.B., Nekrolog, LiveEvil, Euthanasia. 2) MetalGate Spring Prelude - May 16th 2009, EXIT Chmelnice Prague - line-up consists of Demencia Mortalis, D.A.D., Return to Innocence, V.A.R., Mortifilia and Agony. 3) MetalGate Openair 2009 - June 20th 2009, Vostrov near Mnichovo Hradiště - line-up consists of Bad Face, Hyperion, Abstract Essence, Ador Dorath, Galadriel, Livores Mortis, Amortez and VADER.
Results of MetalArt contest will be announced on MetalGate website on February 2nd 2009. Last chance to vote for your favorites!
The deadline for submitting MetalArt contest images has passed. Late creations will not unfortunatelly be accepted. Now it is up to you to decide which contest images are the best. Therefore VOTE, VOTE, VOTE. You have time till the end of January 2009. Then we shall announce the winners and deliver the prices.
We remind you that MetalArt voting has already been started. Furthermore, the deadline for submitting contest images has been extended till the end of November.

The moment is here. New MetalGate website finally goes online. User-friendlier design,greater interactivity and more festival information - that sums up the new version of our web. What is specifically new here? Firstly, News section was implemented onto the homepage. Here you will be able to find up to date information from the festival's kitchen, important notices, and other relevant matters. In case of a longer message, the rest of its text will be located in the news Archive. Many of you asked if we shall publish photos from MetalGate OpenAir 2008. The answer is most definitelly yes. A certain photo preview could have been seen in our old website, yet now we bring you a complete photogallery of the first installment of our festival. You can find it in the History section, where MetalGate 2008 is reviewed in both text and image. The next piece of news is the Contests section where you can compete and win worthy prices. The first contest prepared is MetalArt, which will launch next week, by which time detailed contest guidelines will be released. Final significant upgrade is in the form of Guestbook, where you can post a short message, a question if you have one, or a greeting. We hope that our new web will be to your liking.
